Dr. Shechambo posses a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany obtained in 1992.He also have certificates of attendance on environmental Assessment and Management from Wye College of the University of London (1993) and Valuation of Natural Resources from Makerere University, Kampala (1994).
For the last 23 years he has been researching, teaching and consulting as a member of the University of Dar es Salaam. He has supervised students and also was external examiner at the Sokoine university of Agriculture from 1996 to 2000, as well as Makerere University Institute of Environment and Natural Resources (2001-2002).Hhe has organized and delivered short courses on Environmental and Natural Resource Valuation in collaboration with the EPIQ in Tanzania (1998), British Council in Tanzania (1999) and IUCN in Sudan (1999).
While working with IUCN he organized and delivered another short course on Environmental Economics in Uganda in June 2003 for participants from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Dr. Shechambo has facilitated a workshop on the UNDP-supported Small Grants in January 2004 and published the proceedings under IUCN. From May 2004 up to August 2005, he was adoing consultant work on the Development of Poverty Environment Indicators for the Vice Presidents Office. The final report was submitted and adopted by the Government in August 2005.
