MATAMA is a Non Governmental Organization based in Lilongwe.  It is mainly involved in the promotion of water and sanitation technologies. In addition, it also participates in Environmental Advocacy and Education. MATAMA is a member of Freshwater Action Network (FAN), a network of 437 international organizations, and Global Water Partnership (GWP). It is headed by an Executive Director who is supported by an Operations Manager and a team of specialists in Water, Sanitation and Environmental Education. Past projects include the Water Research fund of Southern Africa (WARFSA) project on Evaluation Of Effectiveness Of Institutional Support For Enhancing Community Based Management Of Potable Water Supplies In Malawi Focusing On Borehole Water Supplies
